Bide Awhile is proud to offer a low-cost spay and neuter program to low income individuals who qualify. By spaying or neutering your pet, you are actively working to reduce pet overpopulation within our community and providing your animal companion a happier and healthier life. A minor procedure, most pets are in and out of the vet on the same day and experience no side effects.

Our spay and neuter program is in partnership with the Eastern Passage Village Veterinary Hospital (EPVVH). If you qualify for this program, you will be given a certificate to present to EPVVH at the time of your appointment. Payment of $145 will be made at Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.

If you are interested in finding out more about this program, please call the shelter at 902 469-9578.

Animal experts agree…”in addition to reducing the pet overpopulation problem, neutering of cats and dogs has many health and behavioral benefits.”  (Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, 2009).
