Become a Bide Awhile Foster
Fostering can be one of the most rewarding ways of giving back – you provide a temporary home, the love, and socializing that these cats need to become their best selves. All this while we cover the cost of care and supplies.
We often have more animals than we have space for, so we turn to our community of dedicated fosters to help us on short-term and long-term foster situations. These foster animals can range from a mama cat with week old kittens to a senior cat entering our Palliative Care Program. We’re happy to work with fosters of all types whether you’ve owned cats your whole life or are new to living with animals.

Requirements:
- Foster MUST be over 18 years old.
- Your own animals must be up to date with vaccinations.
- Permission from Landlord (if renting).
- Support of all household members.
- You must provide a room (as simple as a bathroom) to isolate foster cat(s) from other pets.
- You must have time each day to care for your fosters. The time needed depends on the situation and we can work with you to find the best fit for your lifestyle and schedule.
- You must have reliable access to transportation for picking up/dropping of cats and supplies at the shelter.
