We applaud changes made to the Animal Protection Act in NS

At Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, we applaud the changes made to the Animal Protection Act in this province. Changes include the banning of unnecessary cosmetic procedures such as tail docking, ear cropping, debarking and declawing, as well as strengthening the language around this legislation.

This is wonderful news as it enhances the enforcement and inspection procedures by reducing barriers for our colleagues at the SPCA when responding to calls for their aid.

We are thrilled that the Nova Scotia government has taken such a strong leadership role in implementing these necessary and effective changes, to better protect the animals in our community.
