GET INVOLVED

We are always accepting applications to volunteer on committees, at upcoming events, for pet visitation and more.

At Bide Awhile, we need plenty of volunteers with a variety of experience and skills. If you choose to donate your time and energy to our animals, you’ll be carefully matched with a program that interests you—and needs you. The first step is to fill out the volunteer application (link is found below) and mail, email fax or drop it off to Bide Awhile. Then you will be contacted to come in for a short interview.

We’re lucky to have a strong volunteer list of people we can call on. Some past volunteer opportunities include:

• Local Parades
• Dog Washes
• Calendar and Bake Sales
• Pet Visitation
• Events
• Helping to socialize the cats and dogs
• Walking the Dogs

We are always in need of Volunteers for help during events, at information tables, on committees and other areas. Submit an application if you are interested.

Trio’s Garden – Weeding

Are you a gardener with a little time to spare? We need help with weeding in our garden at Bide Awhile. Please send us a volunteer application if you are interested  and indicate that the garden is where you want to be placed.

Pet Visitation in Senior’s Homes

Do you have 2-3 hours available each month to bring some happiness to residents in local senior’s homes in HRM? Have you heard about Bide Awhile’s Pet Visitation program?

Our teams of volunteers take cats/kittens to visit those who can no longer have their own furry companion. Visit our pet visitation page for more information.
